Purpose and Focus of the CDDET

The Center for Drug Discovery and Experimental Therapeutics (CDDET) is a multi-disciplinary center at the University at Buffalo. The Center focuses in areas of strength and reputation within collaborating related disciplines of the University including such units as the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Core strengths of the Center lie in the pharmaceutical sciences, concentrated in several broad focus areas:
Drug Discovery and Mechanism Drug Delivery and Pharmaceutical Engineering Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Systems Pharmacology Pharmacogenetics and Pharmacogenomics

The purpose of the Center is to encourage innovative and interdiciplinary research in the Pharmaceutical Sciences among the University at Buffalo faculty and with those at regional research institutions, and to foster multi-dicsiplinary educational and training programs at the Graduate and Postdoctoral levels. The center includes research programs leading to the discovery of new drugs, new methods for drug discovery and diagnostic chemistry, drug discovery and experimental therapeutics, and clinical drug development.
